Truly amazing

Stephen just set off for Montreal for a weekend video shoot. It's about a 6 hour drive. I asked him to call home when he arrived BUT:
I did not pack for him
I did not help load the car,
I did not ask him to list what he'd packed in case he'd forgotten anything
I did not load up a bag of "just in case there is nowhere to get food" snacks
I did not remind him to put on a clean shirt and underwear every day.

I guess I finally realized that at 26 he's capable of looking after himself.

I probably shouldn't admit this BUT....I did 2 loads of laundry so he'd have lots of options to pack. I'm not likely ever going to get over thinking he needs me.

Wow - I know women (mum) who still pack for their husbands! If you stop, he might just find one of them to pack for him!!!

I still help my husband. He never packs enough and runs out of clean clothes. *grin*

He will ALWAYS need you...it's the nature of man. But it's good you're letting him test his wings!
The problem is...when are YOU going to stop feeling like if you don't do it, it won't get done. That, I'm afraid, is the nature of woman. :-)

Feeling like a very slack mother. I didn't pack for my girls these past two weekends away. I might do them a packing list, but last weekend I even told them to do their own! I also don't pack for the husband. I always figured I had enough to do packing for three kids and me - and now that they're becoming self sufficient, I'm not about to find myself more work!!

(I do make sure all the clothes are washed though, and dried. From then on it's up to them!)
