At long last

At approximately 3:30 pm yesterday I finally managed to get the priming stated. Who knew there was so much preparation involved. I thought it was simply a matter of shaking the paint can and starting. It's not all done as Paul found some areas he had managed to avoid sanding and there's a gap I want filled around one door frame. If the cooler temperature remains perhaps we can even get it finished in less than a week and actually put on the paint.

I'm probably dreaming.
No wonder we do so little redecorating. We hate it and have developed all kinds of avoidance techniques over the years.

On Friday we managed a trip out to look at exterior doors and replacement basement windows and have a salesman coming on Tuesday to measure and give us a quote. We returned to Ikea and decided that yes, the sink and vanity we had thought about were to poorly made for our tastes and now we are back to the custom one that I will be pushing P. to order.

The new porch railing is on but the quality inspector from the company will be calling. Paul is not happy with the runs in the paint.

Good enough will work when we paint but not when we pay. Sounds about right.
