No progress. The primer started dissolving the patching compound so work halted. A call and a trip to the paint store ended with the purchase of a different primer and added work.
Yes, all the present primer must be sanded. Yes, all the painted surfaces must be sanding, including the ceiling because the current paint is oil based paint and the new paint won't stick.
If the bathroom looked really bad and we didn't have to juggle around 3 people using it, we might be moving a little faster. Not likely knowing our DIY record.
The good news is that today we placed the order for the new front and side doors and new storm doors. The interior woodwork on the backdoor that is a part of the dining room is too special to rip out so we will add painting it's exterior to our job list. At some point it will get a newer storm door.
We have decided to put the basement window replacements on hold until we can do a lot more looking around. There is more to consider than I had originally thought so it is probably best to keep my money in the bank until I am sure.
Repaving the side drive has now been added into our summer of renovations. Our neighbour was getting a quote so we had one done at the same time. The company checks out, the estimate was within reason, so I expect to be setting that up soon.
It will be nice to start ticking FINISHED beside some of these jobs.
