Oh what a wonderful Wednesday

I did make the cake. Carrot with cream cheese frosting. Looks good in the cake holder Paul gave me last Christmas and it sure was a nice treat with coffee after dinner.

Quite the difference in my two maple trees this time of year.

The one in the backyard is a soft/red maple.

The one out front is a columnar maple and is just starting to turn and, my oh my, will I be raking up keys this year.
The back tree will probably be bare by the end of October but the front will hang on well into November meaning I will be out in my winter coat and earmuffs finishing the final clean up.

Recipe for carrot cake and icing.

Read and follow the instructions on a Betty Crocker cake mix box and pre made icing container.

I am not likely to ever make a cake from scratch.

Don't you think the beauty of a maple in fall is worth all the mess you have to clean up? Says me, who never does the cleaning...hubby's job!
I have the MOST delicious carrot cake recipe if you ever decide to try scratch! I take it you would give the boxed mix a good review..maybe I'll try it.
