Paul and I will celebrate our 37th anniversary on October 10th. A lovely floral arrangement arrived this morning from my sister Catherine and her husband Eric. Sisters are special.
Congratulations! My best friend also celebrates her anniversary that day ( but ONLY 26!). 37 yrs. is an achievement...may you enjoy another 37 together. Have fun on your day!
Happy anniversary. 37 years is indeed a huge achievement, congratulations. It has only been 11 for us. How thoughtful for your sister to have remembered.
How we celebrate will depend on the weather. It's been odd lately and not following the forecasts. Day out with dinner at the end or just dinner out after a day at home.
I bought new dress pants and a lovely jacket so I'm ready.
Oh! Happy anniversary you two! Sorry I'm a bit late.. catching up with blogs and that... And you've just reminded me that it is my parents' anniversary somewhere around now (in fact I think I missed it...)... and it was my in-laws' as well... What was it about that time of year?
[Hey, so we've been married about half the time you have! lol]
You can't help but change. More about a melding rather than a concentrated effort to make it happen. Just the passing years change us. Not being surprised by change and always staying honest with each other helps.
We can still annoy each other, still misunderstand each other but we seem to be beyond getting upset by it. I know we bore each other at times but we smile our way through it. Really!
I think a lot has to do with finding your own space withing a relationship. Understanding everything doesn't have to be shared....ie hobbies, activities.
Major decisions are made together but I have always kept my own bank account.
I did say to Paul today that it's hard to believe we've been married so many years when I'm not always convinced I'm that old. They have gone by quickly and we seem to have only good memories.

Sounds like you're about due for a divorce then. Come on, get on with it.
Wow - you have been married for almost as long as I have been alive - congratulations.
Do you find the two of you have grown together and changed over the years?
