So many books, so little time

On the first day of each month my library puts up it's new list of ordered material. I love it.

I hit the fiction first and then the non-fiction.

477 new picks in fiction and 489 in non.

I reserved until I ran out of space, listed the rest and managed to use space on Paul's card.

As of today I have 46 reserves, 9 books out, 3 waiting for pickup and 29 on my list.

At this rate the bathroom will probably never get done.

We're limited to 20 on reserve! How I envy you.

They charge us to reserve books, I presume that for you to reserve is free, otherwise there wouldn't be much left of the housekeeping.

20! We get 3! Per card. But free. Be thankful for the silver lining in the regional 'city' council library.

I haven't read a book for ages... don't quite know where to start... should peruse the library catalogue online again.. Need a kickstart, a list of ideas... any suggestions anyone?

Ah, yes, 20 but each one is 55c. Still, waaaaaaaay cheaper than buying the book and finding out you don't like it.

Yes it's all free. I love my library. Covered in my city taxes.

I think you can have out and on reserved: 50

Limit of 5 DVD's out on your card at one time

Unlimited CD's

They try to limit around 5 books per subject matter in non fiction so you don't strip the shelves.

You can sign in for free computer use on high speed -- 1 hour

.25 cents a day fine for overdue adult books and magazines

.10 cents a day on overdue children's material.

If you work up fines of $25.00 no more borrowing until you have paid some off.

We can take out a whole heap of books here too. The kids are allowed to take 20 books out at a time, othrwise I woudln't be able to keep track of them, but I go for one at a time - I think I am possibly the worlds slowest reader.
I am currently reading The Red Tent - it is pretty interesting so far.

That sounds PERFECT! Then you forget which ones you've reserved, and it's like a fun little surprise when they tell you it's ready!
