Yesterday

Went with my sister Catherine to her pre-op appointment at the hospital.

Met only helpful, pleasant and informed staff. I feel better about her operation now.

Decided to try the Wednesday evening Pilate's class. What a work-out but I will return.

Just before I could sit down to eat my pizza ( frozen, cooked by husband ) there was a knock at the front door. It was a youngish boy, perhaps 8 or 9, asking for sponsorship in a charity run. I asked if he lived in the neighbourhood and he looked startled.

"I'm Jacob"

no response from me because I don't know a Jacob.

"The corner house behind you. Where Maggie lives".

Well of course. Maggie is a little white dog and I know a young boy and girl live in the corner house. I just don't think I've ever seen him that close before.

Made me think about how children view the world. He knows who he is so I was suppose to know as well. I signed up and wished him well.

When I told my 25 year old about it this morning he didn't seem surprised other than to remind me that the world revolves around him. Jacob got it wrong. * grin *

Actually, they're both wrong - I am Queen of the Universe!

...but but but, I'm King. I appointed myself such years and years ago when I figured a king was much higher than a queen.

Sexism at such an early age. We have come a long way since the 50's.
